About the Library

The College library is accommodated in a separate building with a total area of 24,200 Sq.ft. The Library has a rich collection of more than 1,44,000 volumes of books and subscribing 380 Journals in all areas of Arts, Science, Social Science and Humanities. It also holds non book materials like audio cassettes, video cassettes and CD-ROM. A separate well equipped digital library with 40 nodes is housed in the library to access the e-resources like N-LIST, DELNET, EBSCO- Academic Search Elite, EBSCO- e-Book Academic  Subscription collection, CMIE-Prowess IQ, Capitaline, IndiaStat and Scopus databases.

The library is automated with KOHA open source software. The RFID technology implemented in the library helps for quick access to library resources and better security of library materials. The ILL (Inter-Library Loan) is provided to the readers through DELNET. WEB OPAC is available to access the library collection. The library has a separate facility for students with special needs. The library facilitates learning of students with visual impairment with the provision of software such as, Readeasy software and NVDA.

The Library has now the facility to detect plagiarism using Turnitin software. The software helps to detect the possible plagiarism in a document and generates a report showing the similarities with other documents. The Library has made provision to access group of 34 DTH channels through SWAYAM PRABHA, devoted to telecasting of high – quality educational programmes on 24X7 basis using the GSAT-15 satellite.

There is a separate server is maintained to access 6 TB course content of NPTEL courses in various disciplines, A Library initiative of IRINS Faculty profile management system has implemented and integrated with academic identity such as ORCID ID, Scopus ID, Research ID, Microsoft Academic ID, Google Scholar ID for ingesting the  scholarly publication from various sources. The Library is kept open from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm on all working days.
